After a long illness, the Ticino sprinter who won 8 times in the World Cup, with a downhill crystal ball and the 1978 Garmisch World Bronze, left us at 62.

She retired at the age of 25, at the very peak of her career as, at the end of that 1982/83 season, she had won the Downhill World Cup.
Doris De Agostini was one of the strongest sprinters of that period: a native of Airolo from Ticino, she passed away today at the age of 62 after battling a long illness. Her memories are many, starting with an extraordinary approach to the World Cup, where she won her first race at the age of 17, on the snows of Bad Gastein, on 21 January 1976.
Eight of his pearls in the maximum circuit, all downhill as well as the podiums, 19; still in the queen discipline, at not even 20 years old, De Agostini was world bronze in Garmisch 1978, while she participated in the Innsbruck 1976 and Lake Placid 1980 Olympics.
