The official arrives: Heini Pfitscher moves to Switzerland leaving the blue slalomists

The South Tyrolean technician lands in Swiss-Ski as head of the women's giant team in the European Cup. A serious loss for Matteo Guadagnini's national team.

The women's slalom team has always been a concern in recent years for the lack of results at the highest level, but just from last season we saw the light at the bottom of the tunnel, with Marta Rossetti and Martina Peterlini in great growth between Cup Europe and the World Cup, alongside a group that the previous year had seen Lara Della Mea emerge alongside veteran Irene Curtoni. A group of young people, entrusted since summer 2019 to Matteo Guadagnini, who had a fundamental figure in a coach of the caliber of Heini Pfitscher: he has always followed the blue talents firsthand, but the time has already come to change. After the rumors of the past few days, the transition of Pfitscher to Swiss-Ski is official: the Swiss federation has convinced the young South Tyrolean coach by entrusting him with the role of head coach of the women's giant team for the European Cup. It will be up to him to try to relaunch Simone Wild's talent in particular, while FISI will have to roll up his sleeves to replace a key man in Guadagnini's staff, confirmed at the helm of the slalom team in one season, that 2020/21, which he will not see particular technical upheavals in the blue national teams.
