A difficult recovery, but not impossible. Only last September 4th, in training in Saas-Fee, Wendy Holdener got the non-displaced fracture of the head of the right fibula. Exactly four weeks later, the Swiss has already removed (a few days in advance) her crutches and is counting the short period that separates her from returning to the snow; the opening in Soelden is now very close (October 17), but next week it will be understood if the doctors will give the okay to the Swiss multipurpose to put on the skis and try to be there for the first giant of the 2020/21 season. Should it go wrong, an almost certain appointment with the parallel of Lech / Zuers, four weeks later: "Only shortly before Soelden we will decide with the doctors if I can get back on track - explained Wendy to the" Blick "- It will be difficult, but I want to keep the possibility of being there. For me too, logically, the six weeks it takes for a broken bone to heal are worth it ”. Returning to the injury, Holdener said he tried to get up and start again, but realized that his right knee would not hold up: "I needed time to accept this stop, but I can also say that I was very lucky not to have something much more serious immediately. Maybe I will miss Soelden, but everything could be worse and the season is very long ”.
