Let's talk about Petra Vlhova and her ambitions with a view to Cortina 2021, even if obviously the World Cup goal will return to being central as soon as the world championship is over, given the situation that sees the Slovakian in front of everyone for months now, after the double in Levi's slalom. Livio Magoni has decided on a ski-free approach program for his athlete for the next three days, after the tour de force that lasted the entire month of January: then I travel towards Grado to work with the trainer at an athletic level, while the technician from Bergamo and her staff will be waiting for her at the Ladurns base to devote themselves to a couple of slalom training sessions on the weekend before moving to Cortina. Next Monday the assault on the alpine combined world title, which Petra touched two years ago in Are, finishing second just 3 cents from Wendy Holdener. “Then we will decide whether to play the super-g as well”, Magoni himself told us referring to the next day's race, which at this point is tempting also considering what happened today in Garmisch. The recovery times are very short (the combined will end in the middle of Monday afternoon, the fast race of the next day will start at 10.30), but the same will also apply to many rivals and, should Vlhova also appear in super-g, at that point there would be five attacks at the maximum result. On Tuesday 16 February, in fact, the Slovakian will be one of the most anticipated protagonists of the individual parallel, on the other hand in the only previous season she won in the evening of Lech / Zuers. The grand finale with the technical disciplines: Thursday 18 the defense of the world title won in Are in giant, even if in the last specialty tests Petra suffered a lot between Kranjska Gora and Kronplatz, on Saturday 20 the slalom to look for the gold she would like in the discipline that has given her the greatest satisfaction in her career so far. After the bronze in the last world championship, winning would also mean interrupting the reign of Mikaela Shiffrin which has lasted for four consecutive world championships.
