A small alarm bell, turned off with a few more days of rest than expected after experiencing some pain in the rib area. Ilka Stuhec, who fell in training in Saas-Fee, where she is based this summer, seems to have recovered and is ready to extend the planned work on the Swiss glacier until the first week of October, rather than closing the long rally at the end of September. As reported by the website "24ur.com", the bi world champion in charge of downhill is confident of being able to return to her level that, last season and after the two serious knee injuries suffered in autumn 2017 and February 2019 , recently managed to demonstrate only on the occasion of the double win in Val Gardena in December 2018 (on a perfect track for its extraordinary smoothness characteristics) and of the world champion masterpiece of Are 2019, a few days before getting hurt again in Crans-Montana. Stefan Abplanalp, the Swiss technician who has been following her since summer 2019, has prepared a program for Ilka that provides, after returning to Slovenia in October, an intense autumn training between the glaciers of Austria and Switzerland, having to find an alternative plan without the North American trip. The debut is still far away (5-6 December with the two super-gs of Sankt Moritz) and Stuhec has the great goal of the 2020/21 season in mind: the world trio in the Cortina descent.
