It is an incredible story, that of one of the best sprinters of the Wunderteam, absolute protagonist in the World Cup with two victories interspersed with a thousand physical problems. The last two seasons of Cornelia Huetter, however, seem really cursed: towards the end of a 2019/2020 vintage that saw the 27-year-old Styrian renounce her return to the circuit (in February she had definitively decided to devote herself only to `` training, also to maintain injured status), to fully recover after yet another injury suffered a year ago at the Soldeu finals, ends with a few weeks' advance for a new crash in the left knee. On Wednesday, in a giant training session in Reiteralm, "Conny" suffered the anterior cruciate ligament injury of the same joint, as recited the diagnosis made yesterday evening in Altenmarkt; already today in Graz, the unfortunate Austrian downhill skier will be operated giving way to a new recovery phase which, hopefully, will lead her to return for the 2020/21 season, although obviously there are many doubts now. â€œI have to see it as a new challenge and accept it - Huetter's words - I will fight again, we need to keep the focus on the objectives. I have every intention of returning. " At home there are no longer serious knee injuries, but the story of Cornelia is nothing short of incredible, if we think that from the crash to the crusader of the right knee in January 2017, with a winning return to Lake Louise eleven months later in the Olympic season, all colors of it happened, with last season having seen three different injuries in a couple of months, until the most serious stop suffered in Soldeu in March 2019. Now, 12 months later, everything will start again from scratch.
