FIS ok inspection in Jasna: work is underway on the anti-Covid plan for the great return of the World Cup

Peter Gerdol and his men carried out the inspection in the Slovak resort which, 5 years after the last time, will return to host a slalom and a giant on 6-7 March 2021.

Jasna has a great history in the white circus, a symbolic place in a country like Slovakia that now has a very high level champion like Petra Vlhova. Just the 25 year old from Liptovsky Mikulas, a town which is a few km from the ski resort, had started training on the snow at home last spring; now that the lockdown period is over, as reported by "sport.aktuality.sk", the FIS has been able to inspect the competition site that will return to host the women's World Cup on 6-7 March 2021 with a giant and one slalom that could be decisive in the season finale. Exactly five years after the last time, since on 6-7 March 2016 he competed in Jasna, with the giant moved after the slalom due to weather conditions; between the narrow posts Mikaela Shiffrin won in front of Wendy Holdener and the hostess Veronika Velez-Zuzulova (Vlhova was very young and ended in ninth position), 24 hours later the success of Eva-Maria Brem on Viktoria Rebensburg and Federica Brignone arrived. Peter Gerdol, chief race director of the FIS for the Women's CdM, led the inspection of the International Federation in the Slovak location, saying he was satisfied: “It has been done a great job on the track, it will be a great race weekend and with a passionate audience ". The public issue was addressed with the head of the organizing committee, Matej Hulej, who guaranteed safety and social distancing, but with the desire to compete with people on the track and at the finish (in Jasna tens of thousands are expected of spectators), thanks also to the work that a figure chosen for the role of Covid manager will play. In terms of snow, the situation is currently very good, while efforts will be made to make a couple of passes on a track more difficult, which has always guaranteed an excellent show.
