At the end of the super-g and the descent in Bavaria, the official call-outs of Italy for the world championships. Without Goggia the quartets for combined, super-g and downhill are defined (with the inclusion of Nadia Delago), a couple of doubts for the technical competitions.

We will have to wait a few more days, or the two quick races of the men's World Cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, then we will officially meet the large blue contingent for the home World Cup.
Cortina 2021 is on the horizon, on Sunday evening the opening ceremony and next Monday, exactly in one week, the first race with the women's alpine combined. After today's super-g and, above all, with the certified absence of Sofia Goggia, the scenarios are quite clear within the "Avalanche Rosa" that will hunt for a medal on the Olympia delle Tofane.
It all fits together like a puzzle, but for the first three women's appointments there are now few doubts: for the Alpine combined on Monday 8th, Federica Brignone and Marta Bassino will be the medal points, who will be joined by Elena Curtoni and Laura Pirovano . The next day the super-g, with the Aosta Valley, Cuneo and Valtellinese back on track, and the fourth bib (even if in reality she also obtained a top result better than Curtoni) to Francesca Marsaglia, for a poker of athletes all in the top 10 of the specialty WCSL (and they would be 5 in the 11 considering Goggia).
For the descent of the first weekend of races, here are Brignone and Curtoni again, with Laura Pirovano who won the place to the sound of performances (with the 5th and 4th place between St. Anton and Crans-Montana that would have guaranteed a race number of thirty even in the presence of Goggia) and Nadia Delago who becomes the "fished out", for a well-deserved world debut by the Val Gardena who in Crans-Montana obtained the first two top 15 of her career. Outside Marsaglia, in this case, since the Roman has collected two nineteenth seasonal places in the specialty.
Situation still to be defined that linked to parallels, both at individual level and for the team event; Brignone and Bassino want to be there in the first case, but it will also depend on their conditions after the first races, with Della Mea and Curtoni ready to complete the quartet for the new competition of this edition.
Then there will be the giant, with Brignone and Bassino spearheads, again Elena Curtoni (rankings in hand, the third best blue gigantist) and fourth bib with the great doubt between Roberta Midali and Roberta Melesi. The first has better results in the discipline, with a 23rd and a 26th (his first placements in points in CdM) in the last two races between Kranjska Gora and Kronplatz, the second has only a 25th on Podkoren, but it is always level up in speed and today in Garmisch he signed his best career finishing 18th in super-g, in the discipline where, however, he cannot find a place in Cortina for internal competition.
Finally the slalom: Irene Curtoni and Martina Peterlini are the two certainties (remembering Marta Rossetti's injury), it is not certain that the four bibs are exploited even if, in the end, we should still see Brignone and one of Gulli (28th in Flachau, first points in the cup) and Della Mea, who never hit the top 30 this year but, as mentioned before, could also be useful in parallel. Excluding the presence of Marta Bassino, who will already prepare the following World Cup races in Val di Fassa.
