We are at the grand finale of the world championships in Cortina and, with a race to spare, there is already the final verdict regarding the medal table of this 46th edition of the world championship. Austria is unattainable for anyone (unless Switzerland wins the men's slalom of tomorrow ex aequo with two athletes ...), with the beauty of 5 titles won in 12 races, as well as two bronzes to add to the collection. Switzerland has a couple of more medals, 9 compared to 7 of its historical rivals, but two golds less since the men's sector, so far, has brought much less than expected. France is always in third position (2 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronzes), the USA in fourth with all the medals brought by Mikaela Shiffrin, who has won a gold, a silver and two bronzes in four races. Eagle's champion is almost perfect, even if Katharina Liensberger and Lara Gut-Behrami have won two titles each. Italy is fifth in the medal table with Bassino's gold and De Aliprandini's silver, then Norway with the team event title, Germany with its four medals (3 silver and 1 bronze, eye to Strasser tomorrow), Slovakia climbed today to two silvers thanks to Petra Vlhova, finally Sweden and Croatia with the squares of honor respectively with the team in parallel and with Filip Zubcic in the same specialty, but on an individual level.
