Here is an excerpt from the press conference held by Lindsey Vonn on the eve of his return to the World Cup races in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

"In January I came back on skis after the injury in November, now I'm fine and I feel physically strong even though I did a few days in the snow, I'm very happy to be back, it will be my last time here in Cortina. my first podium and I called my father crying (it was January 18, 2004, exactly fifteen years before the descent on Friday.) In my career I have had many special moments and I have always had a lot of confidence with the Olympia of Tofane. my last season and I always aim to win and if I beat Stenmark's record I will be happy, otherwise patience.My body has already stolen me enough and there is also a life after skiing.So and Sofia? We chat on social media and each of We have done and are doing everything possible to return to the top, in these days in Cortina I will miss the fact that she will not be there on my return, she is my strongest opponent but there are many others to keep and an eye on Ilka Stuhec, Tina Weirather and Nicole Schmidhofer. Mikaela Shiffrin? It can improve in speed and can win all races. Winter next to Lake Louise will not go down with different costumes but to win. Lindsey in Cortina d'Ampezzo has won 12 races, 6 downhill runs and 6 super-G, and in 2015 she equaled the 62 women's victories of Annemarie Proell on the 18th of January, winning downhill and the day after beating them in the super-G. All these numbers, combined with the first podium she mentioned, make the Olympia delle Tofane her second competitive garden after Lake Louise.
