A giant who speaks only blue, in the middle of an opening race of the 2020/21 World Cup which, on the Soelden glacier, sees Marta Bassino clearly command over all rivals.
And the first pursuer is Federica Brignone, second at 58 cents from Cuneo, with Mina Fuerst Holtmann third almost a second behind, with a margin of 26 cents on the duo in fourth place at the end of the first heat, or Gisin and Robinson who pay 1 ”18 from the head. The New Zealander, in particular, is scary for a possible comeback, while Vlhova, Hrovat and Worley seem really too far away, eagerly awaited on the eve and already over two seconds behind.
With a sky over the Rettenbach that has not opened as expected in the last few hours, it will start again at 13.00 for a second heat (traced by the blue technician Daniele Simoncelli) to be followed on NEVEITALIA, through the FIS live timing service.

Sofia Goggia will restart from the eighth square of the 1st heat, 1 ”76 from Bassino but just over 8 tenths from the virtual podium. The other six blue in the race did not qualify, namely Bertani, Melesi, Della Mea, Cillara Rossi, Pirovano and Ghisalberti, at his first in the CdM.
