The Valtellina was the best blue in the slalom of Zagreb, but the 16th place is too little. For the two young women, the only other blue in the top 30, a complicated day but which keeps them stable in the ranking, already thinking about Flachau.

A day that cannot be defined as totally negative, given that the recent blue past in this discipline has given very little, but certainly from the afternoon in Zagreb Italslalom goes away with few points in its pocket, albeit with three athletes in the top 30 and a bit of anger for not having hit another place with Lara Della Mea, out on the best in the first heat. For Irene Curtoni, the final 16th place cannot and must not be enough: the signals to Levi had been excellent, with the best results of his career (11th and 8th) on a track never digested, then an objectively bad race in Semmering (24 ^), but that the same veteran from Valtellina had said she wanted to put behind her immediately knowing that she was worth much more. Of course, even the Crveni Spust is not exactly the “Italian” slope, but we must also adapt to what we saw today in terms of snow conditions, something that the Italians were unable to do in both heats. And for Curtoni it is a pity not to have exploited, in the last two appearances between Semmering and Zagreb, an enormous chance: Chiara Mair, the seventh of the WCSL, in fact collected very little and the entry into the first sub-group was anything but that impossible; now Irene is 11 ^ (10 ^ virtually considered Swenn-Larsson's injury), just over forty points from the Austrian and overtaken by Lysdahl and St-Germain, but the occasion was more unique than rare thinking then that, after the next slalom in Flachau (January 12), there will be directly that of the World Championships in Cortina with the last four of the cup scheduled only in March, between Jasna, Are and the finals in Lenzerheide. "I was unable to absorb the signs as I would have liked in the second heat - confessed Marta Rossetti after the race - while I liked it in the upper section of the first heat, before crashing on the flat". And so came a 22nd place for the 21-year-old from Brescia, fresh from Semmering's 11th, but in any case for Marta there are 9 useful points to defend a position in WCSL that remains stable (27th, but between injuries and retirements she should have number 22 in Flachau), as well as that of Martina Peterlini who finished 24th. Of course, even the thirty would have wanted more, but in her condition, with very little training after suffering (and the problem is far from solved) from back problems for almost three months, these are points that can give confidence to find himself at the levels he has already shown he can reach last season.
