A day of celebration on the one hand and of great bitterness on the other. France finds its first podium of the season in the women's sector thanks to its best interpreter, a champion like Tessa Worley back there more than a year after the last top 3, always a third place in the giant of Soelden that opened last season.
In Courchevel, however, the second race between the wide doors on the Stade Emile-Allais cost the season to Romane Miradoli: the sprinter number 1 of the Equipe de France, who crashed during the first heat (faced with bib 66, on a track in really critical conditions), in fact caused the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee, as announced this afternoon by the same French federation.
In the next few days the operation, under the knife of Dr. Sonnery Cottet, for the 26-year-old transalpine who had started very well with 13th place in Soelden and was ready to fight for the top positions in her disciplines, starting with this week's fast races in Val d''Isère.
