Exactly ten days have passed since that damned January 31 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, but speaking of what she lost with that incredible fall on a tourist track next to the “Kandahar”, Sofia Goggia succumbed to emotion again.
Today the Olympic downhill champion spoke in a streaming conference, connected to the media during the live broadcast organized by “Casa Italia Collection - FISI”, also revealing the phone call received by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella. "I was very pleased, especially considering the moment that sees him busy with all the changes to the Government".
Failure to participate in Cortina 2021 was a real blow: "Yes, a very hard blow, although now I would like to concentrate on what I can do without going back to what I will not be able to play, even if the thought is constant since every morning I struggle to forget about it. Lessons from this injury? No, I will accept it later, but at this moment I live badly, much worse than before Sochi 2014, because it comes at a very different time in my career and because a home World Cup is a real dream.
I would have arrived in the best condition, with the serenity conquered with so much effort over the years. Falling in the rotten snow and losing everything like this is hard to accept, ”Sofia said tearfully.
