Start confirmed at 10.30 for the women's downhill in Sankt Moritz, but the first 20" of the race will be missing

Sofia Goggia starts with the number 10 in the race in which she is looking for the seasonal trio: lowered start after the night's snowfall, it will be a sort of sprint descent. Elena Curtoni first blue at the start (bib 2), immediately after twenty Brignone and Shiffrin.

The race is confirmed and this is already good news, considering the fears of the eve. Downhill number 1 in Sankt Moritz, the third of the women's World Cup, was however shortened due to the 10-15 cm of fresh snow that had fallen in the past few hours, with work on the track to restore the entire route which then led the jury to decide for the lowering at the start of the super-g on Sunday. Basically, there will be about twenty seconds left compared to the minute and a half, for a sort of sprint descent in which, certainly, the great favorite Sofia Goggia will be able to have a little less margin than in the tests run on the complete course. The specialty leader from Bergamo will leave the gate tenth, second blue after Elena Curtoni, who will have the 2 and will immediately have to adapt with a different start than the original one. Ortlieb, Puchner and Suter, certainly three of Sofia's direct rivals, will start before her with numbers 5 to 7, with Mowinckel having 9 and Huetter 11. Later Lara Gut-Behrami with number 17, while the return downhill of Mikaela Shiffrin will take place with bib number 22 on the shoulders of the American. Even more than the Olympic bronze medalist from Val Gardena, Federica Brignone will be able to do well here, starting with number 21 before Laura Pirovano (number 24), Nicol Delago with number 30 and Karoline Pichler, 39th of the 52 athletes at the start.
