A historical first, that of the parallel giant that will make its debut on Sunday on the final stretch of a "Kandahar G.A. Agnelli â€which today has already given a thousand emotions with the opening giant of the two days in Sestriere. The big names of the World Cup will be practically all there, for the second seasonal appointment with the parallel which, in this case, however, is very different from the parallel slalom or old city event that you want; the blues have also trained a lot for this format, with different distances and a path designed with 20 overall doors and a slope that will gradually fade to the finish. 59 are registered, with the regulation in force from this year for all the parallel races: therefore we will start at 9.15 with the qualification that foresees a double heats and the best 32 times to be taken to then form the scoreboard of the final phase, which will start at 11.45. Ergo, in the first phase the direct clash will not count, as traditionally from the round of 32 onwards. However, it will be very interesting to immediately see one next to the other Mikaela Shiffrin and Petra Vlhova, first two seeders of the scoreboard and inserted in the first qualifying run, followed then by Rebensburg-Goggia and by Brignone-Holdener and Swenn Larsson (second in Sankt Moritz, but it was a parallel slalom) with Bassino. Six are the blue in the race: in addition to the three of the elite group, we will see Francesca Marsaglia (initial pairing with Alice Robinson), Laura Pirovano (with Alice Danioth) and the return to the World Cup of the Milanese Maria Luisa Bertani, who will start with the 29th pairing, the one with the Serbian Ignjatovic. Favorite? It is really impossible to hazard a prediction, even if Shiffrin, Vlhova (who won in St. Moritz, without the great rival in the race) and Brignone herself who already showed important progress in PSL and has a thousand morale after the triumph today, it could start from reference points.
