The double descent to Crans-Montana is official: on Friday 21 February the recovery of Rosa Khutor

The Canton of Valais adds a race to the program, where Goggia triumphed in 2019. And in Garmisch there is confidence in being able to host downhill and super-g.

All according to forecasts. After having renounced to "lengthen" the Garmisch-Partenkirchen program, given the doubts related to the weather situation of these days in Bavaria (today the decision to cancel the first test of the descent scheduled tomorrow, but there is confidence for the training of Friday and for the Saturday and Sunday races with a marked improvement in weather), the FIS has officially assigned Crans-Montana to recover the descent canceled last Saturday in Rosa Khutor. The women's World Cup, after a giant and slalom in Maribor (be careful though, the official snow check is still awaited since there are temperature problems in Slovenia) on February 15-16, will stop in the Canton of Valais for a three key days. Thursday 20 will be the only race scheduled, Friday 21 the recovery descent, Saturday 22 (10.30) the original descent, which will therefore be the eighth and penultimate of the calendar before the finals of Cortina, and Sunday 23 (hours 10.30 the heats of super-g, at 13.30 that of slalom) the combined, second of the three scheduled, that Federica Brignone has always dominated in recent years. While the 2019 descent was won by Sofia Goggia ... News also in the parallel slalom program scheduled in Are, on Thursday 12 March: the times of the last specialty appointment have been changed, with the qualification phase at 15.30 and the final one from 18.25.
