In La Thuile we work to host a great two days of the World Cup, Saturday with the super-g and Sunday with the third and final Alpine combined of the season, but there is no lack of worries on two fronts.
The first is related to the weather, with abundant snowfall in the next few hours, and the second (and even more delicate) for the Coronavirus issue: of course, the races are confirmed being under the aegis of FIS and considering that the Aosta Valley is not among the regions involved in cases related to Covid-19, but the same region admitted yesterday that there are various possibilities, with the same cancellation of the races or the dispute behind closed doors, which could be the most likely solution.
The same fans of the official fan club of Marta Bassino have already found themselves forced to cancel the trip by bus, having to leave from Piedmont.
In La Thuile, in any case, we should see Petra Vlhova in the race: as reported by my colleague Gianmario Bonzi, the Slovakian champion was visited again in Como yesterday and, after an injection to her left knee suffering from the crushing problem to cartilage accused last Saturday in the second descent of Crans-Montana, there is confidence to return in the next few hours on skis. Petra believes in it and for the general World Cup and does not want to stop, she should therefore put her skis back on the snows of Foppolo on Wednesday (where she also worked a lot last week), in the company of the dominator of the last fast races in the Canton of Valais, or Lara Gut-Behrami ...
