It is the first slalom of the men's European Cup, followed tomorrow by another traditional appointment such as the one on the "Aloch" in Val di Fassa, and the show in Obereggen was not lacking, for a first run that sees Laurie Taylor in front of everyone, but with the challenge still wide open given that the margin of the British rider, the only one to drop below 50 seconds on the very tough “Maierl” track, is quite small compared to the two Frenchmen and the German who are chasing him.
Another youngster like Paco Rassat is second at 21 cents, the son of art Steven Amiez signs the fourth fastest time at + 0”35, with Anton Tremmel between them at + 0”22 from the leader; then two Austrians, with Rueland 5th at 37 cents and Sturm who pays 62 and is sixth just ahead of Holzmann and Janutin.
The best of the Azzurri, waiting to see the very young with the highest numbers, is still Tobias Kastlunger, who starts with number 26 and finishes 15th at 1"46 from Taylor, while Liberatore (despite the good number, the only Italian in the 15) at 2"23 and Vaccari at 2"61 risk not returning due to the inversion of the thirty.
