European Cup: encore descent at Sella Nevea and here is Arvidsson. Molteni and Zazzi just outside the top ten

Second seasonal (and career) success for the American, with Weber still second and the French to follow. A good performance for the Azzurri, but not enough for a great result.

The second descent of Sella Nevea, to close a spectacular two days of the European Cup on the Friulian snow, sees a talent like Erik Arvidsson treating himself to his second success this season on the continental circuit, after the one he signed in January in Orcières. The 24-year-old American beat Ralph Weber by 17 cents, the Swiss again forced to place of honor like yesterday, when he was beaten by Victor Schuller, who is third today; the Frenchman, who finished 25 cents behind Arvidsson, was two cents ahead of another compatriot, Blaise Giezendanner, and one tenth Sam Alphand. A lot of France in the top ten also with Nils Alphand, eighth behind the Austrians Schuetter and Haaser, while at home Wunderteam disappointed the leader of the general and specialty, Maximilian Lahnsteiner. Twelfth place for him, inserted between the two best blues of the day: we are talking about Niccolò Molteni, again one step away from the top ten as on the occasion of the first descent, 11th just 6 tenths from the winner, and Pietro Zazzi today leveled up and good 13th. No points for the other Italians in the race, with the European Cup which will now restart on the weekend, with the female giants of Livigno and the men's slalom of Oberjoch, again on Saturday and Sunday.
