The Frenchman, in his second seasonal success, beats the Swiss Weber and the Swedish Sundin by a whisker. An encore tomorrow.

The European Cup still speaks French, specifically the descent for the first of two appointments scheduled in Sella Nevea. On the Friulian snows the traditional stage dedicated to male speed and it is Victor Schuller, perhaps the main favorite considering already what he showed in practice, to treat himself to the second hurray of the season in the circuit (fourth in his career), beating the first by just over a tenth rivals. The Swiss Ralph Weber (started with bib 32, a perfectly prepared track as shown by various insertions) finished second, 11 cents from the transalpine and just one better than the Swedish Olle Sundin. In turn, with only 18 hundredths behind the winner, the Austrian Schuetter remains down from the podium, as well as the American Arvidsson, fifth ahead of the French Blaise Giezendanner and Nils Alphand, with the leader of the general classification of the European Cup (and specialty), the Austrian Maximilian Lahnsteiner, forced to settle for 8th place. The best blue? Nicolò Molteni, 12th only 62 cents from the winner, 25th place instead for Pietro Zazzi (at 1 ”09), 29th for Federico Paini with the other Italians competing outside the points.
