"Domme" and that special relationship with Bormio: out of 18 successes, 6 have arrived (5 of which downhill) on that ice gut. And on December 28 the rebirth of the very blue champion will pass from there, one year after the last success.

From 29 December 2012 to 28 December 2019. The first and last of Dominik Paris' 18 World Cup victories in Bormio, on his “Stelvio”, in the sign of a truly unique combination of numbers and anniversaries.
A very special relationship, even more so than the one that binds Domme to Kitzbuehel which obviously made it known to the whole world in a flash, after that magical pearl of 2013 on the Streif.
A month before that success on the mythical descent of world skiing, the Val d''Ultimo jet had obtained the first seal in CdM in Bormio at the age of 23; it was 29 December 2012 and Paris won ex aequo with Hannes Reichelt, at the top of a crazy ranking with Svindal third at 1 cent and Kroell fourth at + 0 "02 ...
Then we went to Santa Caterina Valfurva, effectively preventing the blue champion from starting a streak that would have been even more sensational; Dominik still gave himself a couple of podiums on the “Deborah Compagnoni” (third in the 2014 downhill and in the 2016 super-g), but with the return to the Stelvio in the two days at the end of December 2017 the magic is back. On December 28th, five years after the first one, here is the encore downhill beating Svindal by 4 cents and Jansrud by 17, for another extra-luxury podium, then here are the double wins.
On 28 and 29 December 2018, Domme opens the blue double downhill with Innerhofer second at 36 cents and Feuz third at 52, then Matthias Mayer burns for just one cent in super-g (with Kilde third at almost half a second). And last year another double, albeit anticipating everything by a day (there were three races, with the combined on December 29th): on December 27th the success in descent number 1 is clear, with Feuz at 39 cents and Mayer at 42, 24 hours later there are two other Swiss on the podium, with Kryenbuehl who is terrifying and slips behind Paris for only 8 cents, with Feuz still placed (third at + 0 ”26).
It was December 28, 2019 and that is the day of the last World Cup victory for the super-g world champion, then second in Wengen before Kirchberg's cursed injury. Of course, the start of the season was not super between Val d''Isère and Val Gardena, but the South Tyrolean giant has already shown that it is there and that it can be reborn once and for all in Bormio, a year later. On Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th the two tests, on Monday the descent and on Tuesday the super-g, precisely on 28 and 29 December. And just think that Dominik, with six overall successes on the Stelvio, five of which downhill, has always and only climbed the top step of the podium, never settling for other placings. As a true king.
