The Chamonix weekend will end with the second and final giant parallel of the men's World Cup season, after the one (with many surprises) experienced in Alta Badia with the first career success of Rasmus Windingstad.
It is therefore simply impossible to talk about predictions, for the race scheduled for Sunday starting at 9.30 with the double qualifying heats (the best 32 times pass, regardless of the result of the direct matches), followed at 13.15 by the round of 32 that will kick off the phase the final.
Of course, for Aleksander Aamodt Kilde there is a great chance to fly even to the top of the World Cup standings, considering the qualities of the Norwegian in this discipline (on Gran Risa he was completely wrong in the eighth of final just against Windingstad, after dominating the qualification); will be his direct rivals, Henrik Kristoffersen and Alexis Pinturault, to open the dances since they are the seeded No. 1 and 2, then Yule-Noel and so on, arriving at the 5 blue committed.
Only 5 because Alex Vinatzer has raised the white flag, due to the flu state that has already influenced him in today's slalom, coming out halfway through the first heat: a shame because the Val Gardena could have done very well, and then the hopes are above all for Simon Maurberger, who will compete in qualifying with Sarrazin, while De Aliprandini is combined with Read, Tonetti with Schmidiger, Borsotti in Popov and Sala with the Russian Trikhichev. Overall, 54 participants entered the race.
