It will end with the most beautiful race, at least in terms of the atmosphere and the expectation that surrounds it, the month of the classic slalom. Eighth round of the season, the sixth in 24 days, with the Schladming "night race", on Tuesday starting at 5.45 pm for the first run tracked by Simone Del Dio, coach of the French national team. Three hours later, the colleague (and friend) Jacques Theolier, the manager responsible for the blues, will instead draw the second of a creepy slalom. After a decade it will be the first Planai without Marcel Hirscher, who has triumphed in the last two editions, and with a decidedly large lot of favorites: he does not win from Levi, but he is still cup leader with a certain constancy Henrik Kristoffersen, who right in Schladming has gave birth to wonderful duels with the ace of Annaberg. Here, Tuesday could be the right night for Norwegian poker in the "night race", even if starting from the winner of three slaloms in January, or Daniel Yule, and ClÃ©ment Noel, the fight will be tough. Marco Schwarz (back from the podiums of Adelboden and Kitz) will be the first to exit the gate, then Pinturault (two outings in the last two slaloms), the same Kristoffersen with 3, Noel, Zenhaeusern, Foss-Solevaag and Yule to close the first sub-group. At home Italy, there was not too much luck for the draw of Alex Vinatzer, tomorrow on debut for the first time in the second subgroup: the Val Gardena drew just on the 15th and the deterioration of the track in the first heat will already be a determining factor for the best blue card. Of course, veterans Gross and Razzoli will be able to play it (bibs 18 and 19), but for various reasons they will have to invent a great race to stay ahead: the Fassano loves Planai, but he is back from two missed qualifications in Wengen and Kitzbuehel who report his moment of difficulty, while the Reggiano on the contrary is in great confidence (11th on the Maennlichen, 7th on the Ganslern), but on the Styrian slope he never exalted himself (best result the 6th place of 2015). Simon Maurberger (bib 26), Tommaso Sala (39), Riccardo Tonetti (56), Federico Liberatore (60) and Francesco Gori (69) will also be competing, as in the last two slaloms. Among the potential dangers from behind, maximum attention clearly to Lucas Braathen (bib 23), for the first time in the 30th and 4th in Kitzbuehel after the best time in the first heat.
