Giovanni Franzoni strokes the super-g medal: 5th place on Rieser's big day

At the junior world championships in Narvik it's always Austria with a new brace. The 2001 blue class is missing less than three tenths for bronze, outside Talacci, Franzoso and Ricci.

Always them, for the third brace in four races at the junior world championships in Narvik. Austria dictates the Norwegian snow law, signing a new one-two in the men's super-g, after that of the girls with Egger-Grill. Stefan Rieser (formerly bronze downhill) and Armin Dornauer, spaced 51 cents away, give themselves gold and silver in a race in which Italy dreamed of the third medal of this youth event. Giovanni Franzoni did not miss the goal of much, 5th less than three tenths from the bronze conquered by the Swiss Chabloz (and 83 cents from Rieser), with the Norwegian Kindem in front of the blue who paid the bib number 3 , with few references in a very difficult race that saw many big guys come out, including McGrath and the new world champion, the Swiss Monney. Tobias Kastlunger finished in 28th place instead, with Simon Talacci (back from the 24 hours before silver) out as well as Franzoso and Rizzi.
