The blues for Kranjska Gora: there will be no Franzoni, for Kastlunger both the giant and the slalom

Twelve called up for the races on Saturday and next Sunday on the "Podkoren", the last ones before the finals in Lenzerheide.

Eight standard bearers in giant, seven in slalom. The summons of the Azzurri for the giant and slalom of Kranjska Gora are official, with the matches on Saturday and Sunday on Podkoren that will see twelve national athletes as protagonists. We will start with wide doors and Luca De Aliprandini for the first time in the first starting sub-group; together with the vice world champion here are Filippo Della Vite, Tobias Kastlunger, Alex Hofer, Giovanni Borsotti, Riccardo Tonetti, Hannes Zingerle and Manfred Moelgg, while Giovanni Franzoni will not be there, busy with the European Cup finals in Saalbach. On Sunday the slalom (heats always at 9.30 and 12.30) with the same Kastlunger (first time for the South Tyrolean with double race in two days), Tonetti and Moelgg, to which are added Giuliano Razzoli, Stefano Gross, Alex Vinatzer and Tommaso Room. Italy boasts ten successes on the Slovenian slope, the last of which is dated 2008 thanks to Moelgg in slalom, while the last podium dates back to 2017 with Stefano Gross, second among the narrow posts. The two races will define the participants in the cup finals in Lenzerheide: they are currently qualified among the 25 entitled in giant De Aliprandini and Borsotti (24th and at risk), while Tonetti is momentarily out of one place. In slalom they are in Moelgg (18th) and Vinatzer (19th), Gross (28th) still has chances to enter, while Razzoli is called to hit a great result on a track that has already given him great satisfaction in the past.
