Hannes Trinkl baptizes "his" track: Hinterstoder ready to re-embrace the Cup with lots of news

On the weekend of February 29th - March 1st, there will be a super-g and a men's combined in Upper Austria.

After four years of absence, Hinterstoder will re-embrace the World Cup with two races that could also prove decisive in the final battle of a very long season. The last appearance was in the 2015/16 vintage, that is that (like this year) without major events, when two giants (one of recovery) were played, both won by an Alexis Pinturault in great shape, and a super-g who saw Aleksander Aamodt Kilde triumph (in the photo in action that day). In recent days, former downhill world champion Hannes Trinkl, who has held the role of head of the fast races in FIS since 2013 and to whom the Hinterstoder track was named after, saw the slope that, especially in the central part, is one of the toughest on the circuit: "The preparations are in full swing - said the world champion of St. Anton 2001 - and I am sure it will be a great show both technically and on such a beautiful track challenging, that at an environmental level due to the presence of an important public, despite the absence of Marcel Hirscher who got three podiums here in as many races in 2016. Vincent Kriechmayr will play practically at home and will be one of the absolute protagonists ". Hinterstoder will host the maximum circuit for the tenth time, with over 500 volunteers already at work and ready to support the organizing committee during the competition weekend, for which a total of 30-40 thousand spectators are expected.
