Kvitfjell is one of the most important ski resorts in Norway. Located near Lillehammer, it has become famous for hosting the speed events of the 1994 Olympic Games Since then the Descent and SuperG therein disputed entered permanently in the calendar of the World Cup with location between the end of February and the beginning of March.
In all, 21 editions of the Super G of Kvitfjell, race that has only one master: Kjetil Jansrud. The ruler of this seasonal specialty has won it 4 times (March 4, 2012, however, his first career World Cup, 2 March 2014, 8 March 2015 and 13 March 2016). In other words, he has won the last four Super G in Kvitfjell in which he participated (in 2013 it was stopped due to injury).
Behind Jansrud, with 3 wins is Hermann Maier, who leads the ranking of podiums being also came 1 time 1 second and once third to fifth top three. Then ever so Norway, that sull'Olympiabakken sees more express at best their champion Kjetil Andre Aamodt took the win 2 times and reached 1 times third, while Aksel Lund Svindal boasts one first, one second and one third place. Having triumphed March 3, 2013, the open stretch of Norwegian success in the Super G in Kvitfjell arrived at 5.
For Italy arrived 3 victories and 6 podiums in this race: Kristian Ghedina won here March 5, 2000 the only SuperG career and was the second March 10, 1995 behind Werner Perathoner for the only blue double win in a Super G the World Cup.
