Italsci, the bad luck never ends: Alex Vinatzer will miss the Japanese trip

The Gardena, back from a flu state, made matters worse by competing in Chamonix. He will try to return to Kranjska Gora, but the place in the 15 in the world is now at risk.

A cursed period to say the least, which continues with another tile in the Italian home. We are not talking about a new injury, at least, but the absence of Alex Vinatzer from the Japanese weekend of Yuzawa Naeba is far from good news. Yes, because it is already certain that the 20 year old Gardena will not leave for the Rising Sun, in view of the slalom on Sunday 23 February (preceded by the giant on Saturday 22). The reason? Alex is back from a heavy flu state, which had already forced him to bed for three days before Chamonix: the blue talent wanted to compete in the slalom anyway last Saturday, ended after twenty seconds of the first heat, and he the situation worsened significantly. No parallel giant of the next day, but very high fever and a pneumonia principle. Ergo, no skis for a long time and hopes of being able to compete in Japan, thus losing a fundamental slalom also to defend his position among the top 15 in the world. Vinatzer will try to be there for Kranjska Gora (15 March), so as to arrive in at least decent conditions at the Cortina finals on the following Sunday. And close the season of consecration well, interrupted on the most beautiful.
