On the day of his farewell to Peter Fill's races, the Italy of speed without Dominik Paris finds a great Emanuele Buzzi, the most awaited talent for the future who, over a year after Wengen's injury, signs a wonderful race in the seventh season descent, that of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
With over ten athletes in just over half a second, the top ten brought home by the sappadino, 54 cents away from the winner Thomas Dressen, who had approached up to only two cents to the last intermediate, is to be underlined. The German was extraordinary in the famous final left corner of Kandahar, making all the difference to take the second seasonal success downhill after that of Lake Louise, in his home race (he grew 15 km from Garmisch).
It was a big party, however, at the arrival of the athlete with the bib number 31: let's talk about Peter Fill and his race number 355 in the World Cup, the last of his career and lived with the spirit free to start the celebrations for a super career, topped with three victories in the maximum circuit, two world medals and above all the three crystal balls divided between the historic downhill brace (2016 and 2017) and the combined cup.
Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, the real big loser of the day, celebrated little: on the track (albeit with some modifications) where he achieved the first triumph in the World Cup, the Norwegian literally throws the success into the nettles, making mistakes both at the top and in the attack of the central section, to then make a difference on the "Holle", finishing anyway at 16 cents from Dressen for his fourth place of honor in season.
A penny behind AAK, which still holds open as well as the fight for the general World Cup, there is Johan Clarey on the seventh career podium (without ever winning), followed in a very short ranking (over twenty athletes in a second !) from Kriechmayr and Ganong, respectively 26 and 27 cents from the top.
Dressen won with bib number 1, but in reality the track held up much better than expected (and at high temperatures) and allowed many insertions in front. The top ten was completed by Beat Feuz, only 6th and at the first seasonal descent without podium (it did not happen from the Soldeu finals last March), ahead of Hintermann, Jansrud, Franz and precisely Buzzi 10th, the best blue.
Christof Innerhofer, who may have played his second and final race of the season today considering that no important points have arrived to defend his injury status, had to settle for a top 15, 83 cents from Dressen, with Mattia Casse very fast in high and then finished at 1 "37, at the risk of points such as Matteo Marsaglia, who pays 1" 58.
