The president of the organizing committee speaks after the cancellation of the descent. And tickets for today's race will not be refunded.

There is clearly a bit of bitterness in the words of Rainer Senoner, president of the organizing committee of the World Cup stage in Val Gardena, after the cancellation of the descent scheduled today on the Saslong and more generally a very complicated two days, after the super-g eternal on Friday.
“Unfortunately, the weather has put a brake on us - says Senoner - With the current conditions, it was not possible to think of a regular race and the safety of the athletes is the priority. The cancellation of the descent was inevitable ".
Thanks go to all the people and volunteers on duty 24 hours a day in the last few days: “All the staff, on and off the track, did a great job. We have already started working on the 2020 edition (which foresees the novelty of the descent in two heats instead of the super-g, ed), we hope to be able to offer a great week of races ".
The organization also made official the non-refund of the ticket to the spectators who had purchased the coupon for today's descent, given the cancellation due to force majeure.
