The FIS confirms Adelboden, but Waldner warns: "It's difficult to prepare the track, they can only do it here"

The International Federation has indicated the green light for the technical trials of 7-8 January on the Chuenisbargli. The big boss of the men's cup explains that it won't be obvious to compete given the dramatic situation in terms of temperatures.

Adelboden saves... maybe. The FIS has officially confirmed the men's giant and slalom, scheduled for Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 January in the Bernese Oberland resort (start of the heats set at 10.30 and 13.30), but there is still no certainty that the to regularly compete in the very classics on the Chuenisbargli, which last year saw the triumph of Marco Odermatt (in front of Feller and Pinturault between the wide doors) and Johannes Strolz, who won the slalom ahead of Feller and Strasser himself). Temperatures above 10° are forecast for the next few days too and Markus Waldner explained to his colleagues at the "Blick" that the risks still exist, given that the track needs to be completed and above all we need to guarantee at least sufficient grip for two races like this. "Of course it is good that the cannons are working and there are snow deposits, but it will still be an extremely difficult task to prepare the track in time - warned the chief race director of the men's CdM speaking to the Swiss newspaper - If there is Someone who can make a race possible under these seemingly impossible conditions, that's the Adelboden staff. Hans Pieren has often worked magic in such situations in the past, Reto Daepp and his team have inherited Hans' unique knowledge and can do it."
