The world slalom did not give medals to the transalpine champions, who in Courchevel-Méribel 2023 will still have the points Faivre, Noel and Pinturault. The veteran to "Ski Chrono": "I have to reflect with my family".

A bitter closing of the Cortina world championships for the Equipe de France, which was aiming for the maximum result also in slalom with Alexis Pinturault and, above all, Clément Noel. The champion led by Simone Del Dio came out at the best in the heart of the 2nd heat, in full battle for a medal, while Alexis finished 7th after the great disappointment of missing gold in giant.
In the end the balance was saved by a super Mathieu Faivre with his two golds, for the world championship that precedes the home one (and it will literally be for Pinturault), in Courchevel-Méribel 2023. There will be all the tips of the transalpine squadron , but almost certainly not Jean-Baptiste Grange. After Julien Lizeroux, who left skiing for the Schladming slalom, the two-time world champion is also thinking about immediate retirement.
The 36-year-old from Valloire talked about it yesterday at "Ski Chrono", after his exit in the first run of the slalom on the "Druscié A": "It was frustrating to finish a world race like this - Grange's words - If you ask me about future, now I will go home and spend time with my family to reflect. I had no intention of making a decision before Cortina, in order to concentrate as much as possible on the event, but now there are mixed feelings. Normally I would be at the starting gate in Kranjska Gora, we'll see ”.
Grange, at this moment, would also be qualified with a good margin for the finals in Lenzerheide. That could be the right day, next March 21, to greet the white circus.
