It was not the start of dreams, with 12 points collected in super-g and a fall remedied downhill. Emanuele Buzzi came out of the speed opening in Val d''Isère with a few smiles, but also a great desire for redemption thinking that a double great opportunity is already on the horizon, Friday and Saturday in Val Gardena with the two races on Saslong.
Through his website, the 25-year-old from Sappada expressed his post-season debut thoughts: “A 19th place and ... a crash. It's a bit cheap, undoubtedly; in the super-G on Saturday some flaws made me lose those three tenths without which I would have finished in the ten. However, a placement not to be thrown away, but I certainly want more. For the descent the regret is great: I was fine and I wanted to understand where I am, but halfway through the race I ended up in the nets. Too bad indeed.
From the weekend in Val d''Isère, however, we take what was positive. It was important, among other things, to regain confidence with the competitive spirit after many months of preparation. From today we are already in Val Gardena: tomorrow there will be the first test in view of the descent on Saturday and I am particularly attached to the Saslong because here I made my debut in the World Cup, on 19 December 2014.
I got my best placings in 2018: 15th in the downhill and 22nd in super-g. It's time to "file them", what do you say? Follow me on TV ”.
