Third super-g of the men's World Cup season confirmed, to open the two days on the Saslong, but in Val Gardena miracles are really being done to send a race made complicated by the weather conditions.
At 11.45 am, but starting lowered just above the Sochers wall, or where the women left last year; fifteen seconds less in the race due to the wind, but above all it is worrying about the rain on the way, with the humidity that can damage a coat that has held up so far in spite of the last difficult days.
Trace of the Norwegian Anderson, now as usual in Gardena decidedly fast, and seven Azzurri to gamble to dispel the Saslong taboo, given that the last winner here was Werner Heel, in this discipline back in 2008.
Dominik Paris believes in it, he wants to get closer to the top of the ranking of a specialty in which he won all last year (world title and crystal ball) and triumph for the first time in Val Gardena: bib number 5 for blue, maybe not ideal (even if the track could be slightly damaged) as it will start before all the co-favorites.
Mattia Casse will have the 20, Emanuele Buzzi the 24, Peter Fill and Matteo Marsaglia 32 and 33, then Alexander Prast with the 49 and Florian Schieder with the 61.

After the Germans Ferstl (who won here two years ago) and Sander in the opening, with the very dangerous Mauro Caviezel with the number 3, following Paris there will be substantially all his other opponents with odd numbers. The 7 for Vincent Kriechmayr, 9 for the red bib Matthias Mayer, 11 for the winner of Beaver Creek (on a completely different track), Marco Odermatt, but above all the Norwegian duo Kilde-Jansrud (numbers 13-15, among them there it will be Feuz) which is literally scary.
To close the first 20 athletes far from being underestimated from 17 onwards, namely Clarey, Dressen, Sejersted and the same Mattia Casse. With the high numbers, Janka with the 46 can bring out a good race, if conditions permit.
