The stop for Guglielmo Bosca will not be short: "I will skip a few stages, but I will fight to return soon"

Injured to his right knee due to the fall in the first round of the Bormio descent, the Italian sprinter updates on his condition. A new stop after the podium on his debut in the European Cup and ready to play for heavy points in the World Cup, but "Gugu" doesn't want to give up.

Italjet experienced a start to the season that was certainly not too full of satisfactions, with the exception of Dominik Paris' fourth place in Wednesday's descent in Bormio, with the reaction of Ghidoni's team also thanks to the performances of Christof Innerhofer and Matteo Marsaglia after the very difficult super-g on the Stelvio the previous day, but there was certainly not too much luck in the World Cup group. First Mattia Casse in training in Cervinia, with the dream of returning at least for Garmisch and playing for a world chance, then Alexander Prast in the race in Val d''Isère, and in the case of the South Tyrolean unfortunately the season is already over, they are over ko. In Bormio it was Guglielmo Bosca's turn, injured by falling in the first test on the Stelvio, last Saturday; a sprained trauma to the right knee that will require at least a few weeks of rest and therapy, as confirmed by the Italian sprinter in these hours, after the specialist visits made in Milan. “It took me a few days to get rid of my nervousness, but now here I am ready to go again - the words of the 27-year-old from Valle d'Aosta entrusted to social media - I was aiming a lot on the races in Bormio, I was finally fine and I was ready for a great result. With the crash in the first round I will be forced to skip a few more stages but it is not over here, I will continue to fight to get back on track soon. Bosca stops right in Bormio, where 12 months ago he returned to win points in the World Cup, with a very significant 27th place in combined, since two years earlier he had literally destroyed his left leg in that terrible accident at Reiteralm. In the meantime, a bad fall in Kitz last January, but above all a high performance found again starting from the European Cup, with the season started very well in Zinal, if we think that in super-g he came close to success finishing in 2nd place, at 3 cents from the Swiss Weber (also taking 3 points in CdM, in the opening in Val d''Isère). Now a new tile, but the light this time is much closer and not there, at the end of the tunnel.
