Over the last decade, Garmisch-Partenkirchen has almost always hosted speed events and a giant that has become a classic for the men's sector.
With the remodeling of the World Cup calendar from this season, however, the splendid slalom is back on the “Gudiberg”, or rather two; today, the FIS has given the green light to the races between the narrow poles scheduled in Bavaria on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 February, the first post Olympics and fundamental in the race for the specialty cup, being the seventh and eighth event of the ten in program.
Saturday will be competed at 9.30 for the 1st heat, with the second at 12.30, Sunday start at 9.10 and decisive heat always at 12.30. The last time he competed here at the 2011 world championships, when Jean-Baptiste Grange won the first of his two world titles, preceding the Swede Jens Byggmark and Manni Moelgg, who two years earlier won the cup slalom by signing a splendid double with Giorgio Rocca. At the maximum circuit level, he took to the track the following year, at the finals of March 2010, with Felix Neureuther practically imposing himself on the snow at home.
