Meillard, the strongest did not win today. Odermatt: "Sorry, but what's the point of a race like this?"

The Swiss dominated the world parallel, but was mocked in the semifinals by Zubcic (later silver) having to work miracles on the famous blue track. Faivre, the new world champion: "I don't change my mind about the problems of this discipline".

Federica Brignone herself said it outright. "Today Loic Meillard was the strongest and almost certainly would have won gold." And in fact it was just like that, because today in the men's parallel the strongest, times in hand, was the Swiss already winner of the specialty cup last season (and of his first and only race in CdM, a year ago in Chamonix). The downfall for the Rossocross talent was precisely the morning qualification on the Cinque Torri track, where Meillard had set the best time. And so, he found himself always starting on the red track having the lowest bib of all: he managed to overcome the eighth and quarter-finals, but in the semifinal, after having trimmed almost 9 tenths from Zubcic in the first run, he was mocked 2 cents from the Croatian in the decisive descent, obviously running on the infamous blue track (and going faster than his rival for a total of 37 cents). In the end, a bronze arrived and Loic himself was a gentleman not to complain too much about what happened, but it is really incredible what happened
