The Swiss skier fell heavily into the Val Gardena Downhill.

Immediately after the impact the athlete lost consciousness. Gisin was rescued on the track and after half an hour loaded on the helicopter and taken to the hospital in Bolzano.
From the news leaked from Val Gardena the athlete did not wear an airbag. The Swiss tabloid Blick reports in the meantime the statements of his sister Michelle Gisin: "Marc is awake and the conditions are stable".
