First giant in Badia, Marco Odermatt will open the challenge: nine Azzurri, No. 14 for De Aliprandini

The big appointment on Sunday (repeated on Monday) on the Gran Risa: first heat at 10.00, the red bib will start first. In Italy, Vinatzer and Sala also return to the wide doors, for Della Vite n° 31 before... Kilde. The complete startlist.

The wonder of the Gran Risa, the most difficult giant slope in the world (don't want the Chuenisbargli, with its own and equally special charm), for the first of two consecutive great challenges in Alta Badia, with the third and fourth appointments seasonal specialty, exactly as it happened twelve months ago. Sunday race-1 starting at 10.00 with the first heat (Norwegian layout) which will see Marco Odermatt exit the gate right at the start, or rather after the exceptional forerunner Max Blardone. The second is scheduled at 13.30 (French design), with live TV on Rai 2 for both runs, while the 1st heat will be broadcast on Eurosport 1 and the 2nd will instead be visible on the second channel of the issuer. We were talking about Odermatt: after today's 7th place in the downhill, it is likely that another streak of podiums will start again tomorrow, with the phenomenal Swiss already winner of the first two giants in Soelden and Val d''Isère, as well as second and first last year on the Gran Risa. He is the clear favourite, even if Henrik Kristoffersen has always had a certain feeling here, but he suffered a bit in France: the Norwegian leader will start with number 6, with his compatriot Braathen who will have the number 2 before Meillard, Kranjec (double podium at the start of the season, the Slovenian is in great shape) and Pinturault, while Manuel Feller, second on the "Face" in both giant slalom and slalom, will close the first sub-group. In the second there will be Luca De Aliprandini, the first of the nine Azzurri at the start and with a lot of anger in his body: the vice world champion came out in the two opening races, but in Badia he has very sweet memories given that the only podium in CdM l ''he conquered right in the temple, second only to Odermatt in the 2021 encore. Luca will start with 14, then with 16 we will see all the wonder and talent of Atle Lie McGrath, who in 2020 came close to success on the Gran Risa, beaten by just 7 cents by Pinturault, and is now an even more mature and complete athlete. The second blue on the startlist is Giovanni Borsotti (25), then Maurberger with 28 while he will have 31, ahead of Aleksander Aamodt Kilde who is back in giant form after skipping Val d''Isère to try to counter Odertt, a Pippo Della Vite who aims decidedly high after the great French race close to the top ten. Very high numbers and a qualifying mission for Tonetti with the 53, Franzoni (still not at his best) with the 54, the slalom skier duo formed by Vinatzer and Sala, who are back in the giant slalom having also done well in the European Cup and as an "appetizer" for Campiglio, and the landlord Tobias Kastlunger, with bib number 66 to try an encore in Val d''Isère, in that case between the narrow posts.
