A show within a show, a special descent before Odermatt and his colleagues descend on the most difficult giant slope in the world, to compete for success on the wonderful Gran Risa which will host the two World Cup giants scheduled for next Sunday and Monday.
Well, on the occasion of the first appointment on 18 December, the forerunner ready to give away numbers and that skiing so unique of its kind, which led him to conquer the very classic Alta Badia on three occasions (in 2005, 2009 and 2011), it will be Max Blardone.
The Piedmontese specialist spoke about this truly extraordinary occasion for him, and for all the enthusiasts who have admired him for over fifteen years in the white circus: "I am very excited at the idea of returning to the track on my beloved Gran Risa – explains Max - Many memories have resurfaced in me for days and I'm curious to find out what sensations I will feel on Sunday.
I can't wait to reopen the starting gate, this time as a forerunner with the camera, which honors me even more for the possibility of giving spectators the emotions that great champions feel during the descent. It will be nice to find the audience that has followed, cheered and supported me for so many years and it will be a real pleasure to enjoy the numerous events that color the two days of competition. The link with Alta Badia has always been strong and special and I thank the Ski World Cup committee, the Varallo family and the FIS for this wonderful opportunity”.
