A “Stelvio” in perfect condition, to host the jet men again one year after Dominik Paris's double downhill (with Pinturault who closed by taking the alpine combined).
Bormio is ready for the return of the men's World Cup, with the arrival today of the whole white circus caravan (with 9 blues ready for the Stelvio challenge), as in the evening there will be the meeting of the captains with assignment of bibs in view of the first scheduled test on Saturday, starting at 11.30. At the same time, on Sunday there will be the second official training as well as the two races on Monday (downhill) and Tuesday (super-g).
However, there is an important one and it is linked to the weather, given that for the first of the two fast races a strong disturbance with heavy snowfalls is expected; as happened in Val d''Isère, in fact, two weeks ago and with the FIS who decided to reverse the races, managing to prepare for the most difficult day (which would be Monday, when the descent should be held ) a super-g which, however, was also contested by the athletes themselves considering the conditions in which they competed on the Oreiller-Killy.
It is not to be excluded that the same decision will be taken by the chief race director Markus Waldner, anticipating the super-g to Monday, but only after the first test tomorrow will we know more.
