Svindal and Jansrud receive the Peer Gynt Award, symbols of a winning Norway

Two champions awarded at Vinstra with one of the most important honors in the country.

Aksel Lund Svindal and Kjetil Jansrud are two symbols of Norway, but also examples outside the ski slopes. Also for this reason, the champion winner of two World Cups and just retired from the activity, along with the world champion and now a former colleague (and a great friend of Aksel), was decided to award the Peer Gynt Award, title that every year goes to people or institutions that have left a positive mark on a socially beneficial level, making known the name of Norway abroad. In the heart of the town of Vinstra, Svindal and Jansrud received the award on Saturday, directly from the club president Storting who awards the Peer Gynt of the Year, or Tone Wilhelmsen Troen. Kjetil seemed visibly moved: for him it is the first time and precisely in his territory, given that he lives in Vinstra. "There were clear instructions from my mother for the dress I wear - Kjetil then smiled," forced "to wear the Gudbrandsdalsbunad - It is an award that I share with all the volunteers of this reality, which I saw grow for many years now ”. Svindal joked with former teammate: "It is the first time we share a prize, we have always won in different years. It was very nice".
