Everything is ready in Kitzbuehel for the big party of the 80th edition of the Hahnenkamm Trophy, opened on Friday (11.30 am, the weather doesn't worry) from the super-g which will represent the fourth seasonal event of the specialty.
The most awaited actor will be missing, not only from the Italian public, and we are obviously talking about Dominik Paris, but the Austrians and Norwegians will try to give the show first. They are the main favorites, since if we want to indicate a poker, here is Vincent Kriechmayr (at the start with the bib number 9, as leader of the discipline classification but back from a bad blow suffered today in the second test of the descent), Matthias Mayer (No. 11), Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (13) and Kjetil Jansrud (19) certainly occupy those boxes.
On the track designed by the former blue Erik Seletto, who trains the French national team, maximum attention to Johan Clarey (bib 5) and to Alexis Pinturault himself who has always done well in the super-g here and is looking for heavy points to recover something to Kristoffersen in the general classification. The transalpine will have the bib number 20, while the winner of last year, Josef Ferstl, will kick off the dance with much anticipation for the returning Marco Odermatt, competing with the 3 at the "first" after more than a month of stop.
And the blues? They are seven and the first to try will be Mattia Casse with the number 6, followed by Christof Innerhofer with the 16, even if the South Tyrolean has not yet completely resolved the doubts about his presence (he will decide only tomorrow morning) for the great return to the race more than 10 months after the last performance in Soldeu. And then Buzzi and Fill (24 and 29), Matteo Marsaglia with 31 and Davide Cazzaniga (38) and Guglielmo Bosca with 44.
