Vinatzer tries, Yule and Strasser lead Switzerland and Germany: the eve of the Campiglio slalom

Eve time in Madonna di Campiglio, for the great night of 3Tre on the Canalone Miramonti which is approaching, with the men's slalom which will start tomorrow at 17.45, with the first heat designed by Fuess, Austria's home technician, and the second (from 8.45 pm) of French brand. No problem in terms of weather conditions, even if the temperatures will remain well above freezing even on Thursday and the track will take something away from the higher numbers, despite the usual excellent preparation by the organizing committee led by Lorenzo Conci. The great doubt of the Italian home is linked to Alex Vinatzer, who is back on the snow today for the decisive test on participation or not in the home slalom, given that the pain in his right knee, injured (meniscal injury) in the second giant in Alta Badia, it feels but is under control. The Swiss team has been made official, with nine athletes at the gate of 3Tre with Daniel Yule, twice winner in Trentino between 2018 (when the dominators Hirscher and Kristoffersen sensationally exited at the start of the 2nd heat) and 2020, when he competed in the first days of January but it was the Valaisan's second consecutive success on his favorite track. With Yule, here are Meillard, Zenhaeusern, Aerni, Rochat, Nef, Sandro Simonet, the son of art Noel Von Gruenigen and the youngest of the group, the class of 2000 Joel Luetolf. Germany will instead count on seven elements: the leader is Linus Strasser, among other things who became a father a few hours ago, with Alexander Schmid back in the race after the excellent giants on the Gran Risa, in addition to Meisen, Tremmel, Himmelsbach, Holzmann and Ketterer. Tonight, starting at 18.30, the bib extraction is open to the public, with an appointment fixed as per tradition in Piazza Sissi.
