Confirmation has arrived from FISI: Alex Vinatzer will be regularly at the start of the 3Tre in Madonna di Campiglio, starting tomorrow at 5.45 pm with the 1st heat. The right knee injury suffered in Badia was partially recovered and today's test on the snow gave good results to the Val Gardena, who will therefore present himself at the starting gate together with Razzoli, Sala, Gross, Maurberger, Liberatore and Kastlunger. "Thanks to the work of the staff, I'm in a position to race - he told fisi.org - With some tight bandages, but I'll be at the starting gate". Guglielmo Bosca, on the other hand, has to stop with the hope that it will only be a stop for a few days and that the next races for the jet men, scheduled for 28-29 December in Bormio with downhill and super-g (first round scheduled already on Monday 26), are still possible for the 29-year-old now from the Aosta Valley by adoption. We explain what happened, through the very words of the sprinter who, via social media, explained his fall at the finish line of the second descent on the Saslong, last Saturday in Val Gardena, and the consequences accrued during that race which was really painful for “Gugu”. Here's why: “In the first descent on Thursday I got a small muscle strain in my right leg which I carried with me until Saturday - Bosca's words - I wasn't in great shape, but I wanted to try anyway. The problem is that about halfway down the track, landing from a jump, I felt a crazy muscle spasm in my right quadriceps and from then on I couldn't put any more force on my leg. Like an idiot, I tried to somehow continue my descent and ended up crossing the finish line as… you have seen. Back home in Milan, I did some diagnostic tests at the La Madonnina nursing home and it turned out that I actually have a small muscle tear in my right thigh and a small bone bruise in my left knee. I'm doing everything to get back as soon as possible...". Precisely in Bormio, in 2019, Bosca found points in CdM (he was 27th in the combined) two years after the terrible injury of Reiteralm. Who knows if the Stelvio will give him a new start, even if fortunately in this case the problem is not so serious and, in any case, we will see him again in 2023 to try and attack that top ten already narrowly missed at Lake Louise in super-g.
