The chief race director spoke at the captains' meeting after today's very difficult super-g. Forecasts indicate 20 cm of snow, doubts about the starting point.

It was the most difficult day of this first part of the season, for Markus Waldner and the FIS team who, together with the organizers of the Gardena stage led by Rainer Senoner, saw themselves with a decidedly critical situation for a super-g conditioned by fog and in general temperatures that risked compromising the bottom and therefore the safety of the athletes themselves.
The chief race director of the male sector spoke at the captains' meeting, which was staged before the evening draw of the bibs, defending the choice to carry out (almost, with the stop at number 48) a race lasting almost four Hours: "It was a fair decision in name in sports and the athletes kept their concentration high for several hours." Even Rainer Senoner, head of the Gardena committee, said he was happy to be able to take the race home, thanking all those who contributed to the work on the track and out.
And for the Saturday descent? The forecasts are slightly better than expected: "It will be another difficult day, but I expect that we will be able to manage the descent from the program - explained Waldner - It should snow only 20 centimeters instead of 30, which of course would help us" .
Only in the morning, however, will it be decided whether to start from the top (not from the original start, already excluded after the first test) or from the other start of the reserve, the one at the super-g, then further lowered this '' today it causes wind.
