Zenhaeusern looks ahead and wants to improve: "I was unable to express myself fully"

The Swiss giant, again fourth in the slalom ranking, is back from a season of ups and downs that has not fully satisfied him.

If in the 2018/19 vintage Ramon Zenhaeusern had achieved two more World Cup victories, the season following the first triumph in the Stockholm city event and the Olympic silver in slalom at PyeongChang (with gold in the team event), for the Swiss giant, 2019/20 was not as satisfying. Of course, Ramon is always there among the greats of the narrow poles, again fourth in the final ranking of the slalom World Cup, but he himself expected something more, after starting with Levi's 4th place, continued with the '' forked in Val d''Isère (when he was traveling very strongly), the first and only podium of the season in Zagreb, second only 7 cents from Noel, and then having wasted the chance to win in Campiglio, going out on the wall in the second race on the gully Miramonti. Right from the night of the 3Tre something broke, with Zenhaeusern who in the other classics in January and in Chamonix in what turned out to be the last slalom of the season, was no longer able to fight for success. "I was distant from the others, I was unable to express myself to the fullest - he admitted to the Swiss media - I will have to work hard to improve and play it continuously at the top". The impressive victory of Kranjska Gora 2019 seems a bit far away, but there is to bet that the 27 year old (he will turn 28 on May 4) of the Canton of Valais will be one of the great protagonists of the next season, maybe even in that parallel that in fact they raised in the season just ended, since only two parallel giants were competed and not the "classic" format of the parallel slalom, that is the old city event canceled in Stockholm just before the World Cup began. In the meantime, Zenhaeusern confesses to having fun sorting all the images saved on his cell phone in the past eight years, to keep the good memories of a very long career.
