It is difficult to ask for more for a slalom, or rather two after having “acquired” the canceled race in Obereggen, at the European Cup level.
In Pozza there will be many big names, already for the first challenge scheduled for Thursday on the "Aloch" (the repeat on Friday), with the organization of the Ski Team Fassa for the eighth race of the season in the continental circuit, the first among the narrow poles after the appointments of Gurgl, Zinal and Santa Caterina Valfurva.
Start at 10.00 with the first heat (the second is set at 13.00), with the Italy of Devid Salvadori who will present, in fact, all his men from the slalom World Cup group, training in Val di Fassa from over a week. So Vinatzer, Gross, Moelgg, Razzoli, Liberatore and the returning Maurberger are at the start, while during the day the bad news arrived of the positivity to the quick test of Tommaso Sala (who won the slalom of the Pozza European Cup 2019 edition), as they reported the colleagues of "Race Ski Magazine". If tomorrow is confirmed by the molecular test, the presence of Brianza is practically excluded even in the first two slaloms of CdM scheduled for next Monday and Tuesday between Alta Badia and Campiglio.
Precisely with this in mind, on a demanding track like the Aloch, champions like Clément Noel and Daniel Yule, but also the same Zenhaeusern, Strasser, want to try before the debut (despite having already competed in giant numbers in Santa Caterina Valfurva) Ryding, Gstrein and many others.
There are also many young blues who will be able to face such an important competition, above all there is curiosity for the presence of Edoardo Saracco, born in 2003 already medaled in slalom (he was bronze) in the last edition of the YOG in Lausanne.
HIPPACH BIS FOR GIANTS
On Thursday, at the same times as the slalom in Fassa (10-13), there will also be the giant encore for the women's European Cup. On the snows of Hippach, another race between wide doors after today's success of Maryna Gasienica-Daniel in front of Moerzinger and Moltzan; also in this case, the level is really very high and among the protagonists there will still be nine blue, already able today to obtain a double top ten with Roberta Midali ninth and Roberta Melesi tenth. Call for redemption Valentina Cillara Rossi, it will be another good chance for Sandulli and Saracco, very fast today in race 1 (what a pity for the Piedmontese's exit in the 2nd heat) and an important signal is also expected by Karoline Pichler, although forced to start with very high pectorals.
