The Covid situation forces Norwegian and Italian organizers to raise the white flag: we are moving towards an increasingly reduced calendar, especially in December.

Marta Rossetti herself spoke about it just a few hours ago, with the uncertainty linked to the possibility of making her giant debut in the first races of a European Cup that is much more at risk than the World Cup itself.
And here, less than a month before the start of the continental circuit, other appointments are skipped that will not be recovered, after the FIS had already changed the calendar in September, once it was established that it would not have competed in Sweden, without the women's slalom opening in Funesdalen and the male giants of Gallivare.
Now it is official, there will not even be the "new opening" of Trysil, on the Norwegian snow where two female giants were supposed to have played on November 30th and December 1st, as well as two slaloms for girls on December 3-4. In the current state of the situation, the start of the 2020/21 European Cup would take place on 1-2 December from Reiteralm for men, with two giants, while the women's sector should wait until 8-9 of the month, with two super-gs from Sankt Moritz that will arrive after the World Cup weekend in the Engadine.
The painful news for Italian fans and organizers, however, already concerns two stages of the super December that we usually experience on our snow: no Livigno, due to the novelty of the parallels (male and female) of 11-12 December, a test in future CdM optics, and the very classic Obereggen, with the men's slalom scheduled for December 17 that will not take place, exactly as in December 2019 when the race was canceled (in progress) due to the high temperatures that destroyed the track. This time, unfortunately, the reasons are very different.
